The Emory University Department of Medicine, within the Emory University School of Medicine, is steeped in a rich tradition of excellence. The Emory University Department of Medicine makes up a portion of Woodruff Health Sciences Center of Emory University, which includes the Emory schools of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health; Yerkes National Primate Research Center, one of the eight national primate research centers funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH); the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, the only cancer treatment center in Georgia to be National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated; and Emory Healthcare, the largest, most comprehensive health care system in the Georgia.
