Hospital Medicine Celebrates their 4th Annual Research Day and 8th Annual Clinical Vignette Competition

Emory Division of Hospital Medicine celebrated their 4th Annual Research Day and 8th Annual Clinical Vignette Competition. Both conferences represented the division's innovation and diversity in clinical research, quality improvement, medical education, and clinical cases. We are proud to see how much our division has accomplished.

Research Day Winners:

  • First Place: Maha Sulieman, MD; Chikwava Gwinyai, MD; Eric Peterson, PA-C; Liz Latka, MPT - "Reducing inpatient Kyphoplasty procedures for acute uncomplicated vertebral compression fractures"
  • Second Place: Kari Esbensen, MD, PhD; Hunter Groninger, MD; Naziya Noorani, MSN, RN-BC; Melissa Owen, PhD, RN, CNE, FHFSA - "Does the Edmonton Symptom Assessment Scale-Revised (ESAS-r) Adequately Assess Palliative Care Needs among Heart Transplant Candidates?"
