BiographyDr Clearo attended the University of Florida and completed her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1993. She worked as a pharmacist for three years then returned to medical school in 1996. She attended medical school at the University of Washington where she received her Doctor of Medicine in 2000. Dr Clearo completed her combined two year internship in Internal Medicine & Psychiatry at State University of New York (SUNY), Brooklyn Campus Downstate June 2002. She completed her combined residency in Internal Medicine & Psychiatry Residency at Duke University in June 2005. She was a chief resident at Duke University in the combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry program in her final year of residency. Dr Clearo is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Psychiatry.
Dr Clearo worked at Emory University Hospital as a Hospitalist in Internal Medicine from 2005 to 2006 then transferred within the Emory Healthcare system to Grady Memorial Hospital in 2006. At Grady, she is as an attending physician in hospital medicine and outpatient psychiatry. She also works as an outpatient psychiatrist at Emory University.
Dr Clearo is currently an assistant professor in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine. She is also the Co-Director of the Combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry residency program at Emory University.
Dr Clearo is the Co-Medical Director of the SBIRT project at Grady Hospital. This is a substance abuse grant awarded by SAMHSA.
She works as a hospitalist at Grady Hospital in Internal Medicine and is a part-time staff psychiatrist at the Grady Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic and Emory Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic. Dr. Clearo's clinical interests are in hospital medicine and outpatient psychiatry. She has additional interests in substance abuse.
Dr Clearo is involved in teaching the Emory medical students and residents on the inpatient medicine wards and outpatient medical clinic. She received the teaching award for best inpatient attending 2007-2008.
Dr Clearo has held memberships in the American Psychiatric Association, American College of Physicians, Georgia Psychiatric Association, American Medical Women's Association and American Pharmaceutical Association and Association of Medicine and Psychiatry.
