Biography

As co-director of the Diabetes Management Feedback Program (DMFP) at Grady Health System, Dr. Barnes was instrumental in conducting the NIH research that developed into an ongoing diabetesmanagement feedback program at Grady. The DMFP supports diabetes-related performance feedback and decision support flowsheets to providers in the Grady Primary Care Clinics.
Past funding includes patient empowerment researchby the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association; provider inertiais funded by Aetna; and, in the area of patient medication adherence, she is funded bythe NIH. Dr. Barnes is currently funded by Sanofi Aventis and American Diabetes Association for her work in hypoglycemia and provider inertia /feedback.
