Our Program for Research Involvement and Mentorship at Emory (PRIME) program was founded to make the process of conducting research during residency easier, more educational, and more productive. The program is designed to improve the research experience for residents by connecting them with faculty and peer mentorship, as well as additional resources such as financial support for residents presenting at scientific meetings.
PRIME Program Benefits
Faculty Mentorship
Residents who join the PRIME program will be connected with a PRIME advisor in their specialty area. Residents and faculty will meet to learn about your research and career goals, and connect you with the best faculty members to work with in your division.
Peer Mentorship
While faculty membership is crucial to a resident's success, peer mentorship is just as important. PRIME program members will be paired with an experienced PGY-3 peer mentor in their area of interest who can help to guide residents through conducting research, applying for fellowship, and more.
Lecture Series
Emory has a wealth of incredible researchers, and the PRIME Lecture Series allows them to share their knowledge with residents through brief, high-yield lectures throughout the year. The PRIME Lecture Series features 10-15 minute talks on the most important aspects of resident research.
Research Resources Database
The PRIME program houses an online database that collates the most important research resources necessary for residents. The database includes poster and PowerPoint templates, important conference dates and abstract deadlines, statistical resources, IRB application support, manuscript publishing advice, and more.
