Hospital Medicine - LTAC

Job Description

  • 7on / 7off block Scheduling (15 shifts per month, 12-Hour Shifts)
  • Hospitalist team provides service response for codes, consultations, inpatient episodic medical care, procedures, and vent management (PCC available for consults as needed)
  • Coordinate transfer to other hospitals as required and medically appropriate
  • Hospital has 18 active licensed beds (28 total), with an average census of 16-18 patients
  • Select Medical is majority owner of the LTAC services at Emory Healthcares Wesley Woods Hospital (named Select Specialty Hospital-Northeast Atlanta), as a product of a joint venture established in July 2014. Emory Hospitalists work in coordination with Select Medical staff as part of a comprehensive care team.

Minimum Qualifications

Overview of Select Specialty Hospital Northeast Atlanta

Select Specialty Hospital; Northeast Atlanta is a 28-bed Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Hospital, located on the first floor of Emory Healthcare Wesley Woods Hospital. The hospital is part of a national network of more than 100 Select Medical LTAC facilities. The hospital serves critically ill and medically complex patients who require extended hospitalization and cannot be transitioned to a lower level of care. The facility typically serves patients who survived critical care but have continued weakness and significant medical needs. Select Specialty hospitals are designed to provide comprehensive, specialized care for high-acuity patients who need more time to recover. The average length of stay is 25-30 days.
