Emory University Hospital
Emory University Hospital is a 604 bed tertiary referral facility
located on the campus of Emory University. Its staff, limited to full-time
faculty of the Emory School of Medicine, care for patients referred
from all over the United States and throughtout the world. More than
18,000 patients are admitted annually. Named repeatedly as one of the
nation's top ten hospitals in the field of cardiology, Emory University
Hospital is a leader in coronary angioplasty. The hospital is also
the largest transplant center in Georgia and one of the largest and
most diversified in the Southeast, offering heart, heart-lung, kidney,
liver, pancreas-kidney, cornea, bone, and bone marrow transplants.
The medical center includes a 47 bed psychiatric unit, a 56 bed Center
for Rehabilitation Medicine, and a ten bed Clinical Research Center
funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Grady Memorial Hospital
Located in downtown Atlanta, Grady Memorial Hospital has 837 beds and 230
outpatient clinics. It is the largest general hospital in Georgia and one
of the largest in the world. Nearly 40,000 inpatients and more than 750,000
outpatients--including approximately 230,000 in emergency clinics--are treated
each year. A $400-million expansion and renovation began in 1989 and was
completed in 1996. Grady Hospital, funded in 1892, has become preeminent
among inner-city hospitals by virtue of excellent close working relationship with Emory University School of Medicine and Morehouse school of Medicine.

Crawford Long Hospital

Crawford Long Hospital of Emory University is a 583-bed community
and teriary care hospital owned by Emory University. Located in mid-town
Atlanta, where it covers five city blocks, it has been designated by the
Atlanta Olympic organizing committee as a hospital for the 1996 Olympics
responsible for the care of p athletes. More than 20,000 patients are admitted
annually by a medical staff composed of community physicians and faculty
members of the Emory University School of Medicine.

The Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center--located within walking
distance of the Emory University campus--is a 575 bed primary and tertiary
care hospital that provides inpatient care for more than 440,000 veterans.
It includes a new ambulatory care wing and a new 120-bed geriatric building.
A 240,000 square foot addition opened November 1, 1994, which includes new
intensive care units, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostics, and research
laboratories.

Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital
Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital, part of the health care complex of Wesley
Woods Center, is located half a mile from Emory University Hospital. It
is a uniquely designed, 100-bed acute care hospital for geriatric patients.
The hospital provides extensive services for the assessment of movement
disorders, Alzheimer's disease, and has a large intermediate care unit
devoted to weaning from mechanical ventilation.
