The following items must be in your ERAS Common Application before your application will be reviewed:

All trainees are selected through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), which conducts a matching program for fellowship positions in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine annually. In order to participate in this program, you must register through this service, available online at www.nrmp.org.

Interviews

Once the application and letters of recommendation are submitted, you may be invited for an interview. Interviews are generally held on Thursdays and Fridays between August and October, beginning in the early morning and lasting until late afternoon. The day consists of interviews with faculty and fellows, lunch with current trainees and a tours of the facilities.

The purpose of the interview day is to permit the candidate to learn about the program and its philosophies from faculty. Please let us know in advance if there is any specific faculty member that you have a particular interest in meeting. Also, let us know if you have any personal issues (i.e. spouse employment, schools, etc) that need special attention on your interview day.

Interview Arrangements

Candidates invited for an interview should contact Linda Howell to schedule the interview date. In general, candidates invited for an interview should plan to arrive the evening before the interview date and plan to leave Atlanta no earlier than 6 p.m. the day of the interview. At the time the interview is scheduled, candidates will receive recommendations for hotel accommodations, directions to the hospital, etc.
