We participate in the matching process.

Application Process

Our program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) provided through the Association of American Medical Colleges. ERAS is used to transmit applications, letters of recommendation, transcripts, and other supporting credentials from applicants. For further information on this process, please view the website: www.aamc.org/students/eras/support

Interviews

Interviews are required for match list ranking. Interviews are by invitation only. Once the application and letters of recommendation are submitted, sselected qualified candidates will be invited for an interview. Interviews generally begin in the early morning and last until late afternoon. The day consists of an introduction to the Program by the Division Director and the Program Director, interviews with faculty, attendance at Grand Rounds and tours of the facilities. Candidates will be taken to lunch by one or more of the current fellows.

The purpose of the interview is to permit the candidate to discuss the program and its philosophies with faculty. It also provides the candidate an opportunity to meet representative faculty and fellows at all levels of training. All interviews must be officially scheduled and confirmed with the Program Coordinator. We plan to complete all interviews between January and May each year. Candidates should notify the Program Coordinator in advance if there is any specific faculty member that they have a particular interest in meeting. Also, please let us know if you have any personal issues (i.e. spouse employment, schools, etc) that need special attention on your interview day.

Interview Arrangements

Candidates invited for an interview should call Linda Howell (404) 712 8286 to schedule the interview date. . In general, candidates invited for an interview should plan to arrive the evening before the interview date and plan to leave Atlanta no earlier than 6 p.m. the day of the interview. At the time the interview is scheduled, candidates will receive recommendations for hotel accommodations, directions to the hospital, etc.
