Dr. Gaynes is a Professor at Emory with a dual appointment in the School of Public Health (Department of Epidemiology) and the School of Medicine (Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases). He is also Chair of the Infection Control Committee, the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, and Attending Infectious Disease Physician at the Atlanta Veteran’s Administration Medical Center (VAMC). His current research focus includes using the latest technology in the computerized patient record system and clinical decision support to optimize antimicrobial use and decrease nosocomial infections at Atlanta VAMC.
