Biography

Matthew Haney, MD received his MD degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Louisville where he served as Chairman of the Internal Medicine Residency Steering Committee for two of his three years. He subsequently came to the Atlanta VA Medical Center as a hospitalist and clinician educator in 2014, to serve as faculty with Emory University School of Medicine and Morehouse School of Medicine. His areas of academic interests include central line training, precepting Emory Physician Assistant students, evidence-based medicine, and journal club. His clinical interests include cardiology, procedures, and innovation in medicine. He serves on the VA Physician Satisfaction Committee and Simulation Committee, as well as the Emory Faculty Development Committee and the Southern Hospital Medicine Conference Planning Committee. He is an active member of the Society of Hospital Medicine and the American Heart Association.
