whole patient is in the generalist's hands-from bumps and bruises to
complex illnesses to matters of emotional well-being. In recognition
of the prominence that general internal medicine plays in the realm
of health care, the Department of Medicine at Emory University School
of Medicine has created the Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency.

Teaching skills are the essence of a clinician educator.
It is our belief that teachers may improve their skills by being
cognitively aware of recommendations of experts and possible teaching
strategies
and theories, reflective in their work as teachers, and being observed
and given feedback by peers, as well as given opportunities to
practice different skills. Graduates of the Faculty Development Program
have
won many teaching awards including the "Golden Apple Award" on

The junior medicine clerkship is a twelve-week
rotation. Eight weeks are spent at Grady Memorial Hospital and
four weeks at the VA Hospital. Each hospital provides unique
learning opportunities and exposes you to a wide range of medical
diseases.
The two experiences complement each other and should provide
you with a solid foundation of medical knowledge that you can
apply

among the most popular and best rated courses in the Medical School.
The Division of General Medicine provides the vast majority of
the attending staff for the medical teams. The faculty in the
Division also provide supervision for learning better history
