Billing for Cell culture/monoclonal core:

DDRDC members will receive a 40% reduction in the below base charges for cell culture and monoclonal antibody production assistance.

Time allocation: Core members will be given 1st priority for cell orders, followed by non-members on a first come basis.

After meeting core members needs, the core will provide services to other users with pathology department members receiving the next level of priority at the regular base charge rate depending on tissue culture/fusion capacity of the core at the time of order placement.

Cell Culture Core:

Base charge is $45.00 per plate (also called unit) of epithelial cells cultured on permeable supports:
Specifically: Twelve 0.33cm2 monolayers (in a 24-well tissue culture plate)
Six 5cm2 monolayers (in a 6 well tissue culture plate)
One 45cm2 monolayer

Base charge is $25.00 per unit of cells cultured on plastic to include:
Epithelial cells in tissue culture flask (T75, T162, petri dish) or in multiwell plates (96, 24, 12, 6) including on coverslips (12 per plate).

Base charge to bring up a requested cell line for individual use is $20.00 and $10.00/week to maintain in a single flask. Additional flasks are 5.00 each. If three or more investigators are using the requested cell line, the weekly maintenance fee will be waived.

Cell lines with no maintenance fee: T84, CaCo2, and HT29

Monoclonal Antibody Core

Base fee for immunizing (four times), fusing, screening up to and including the first subcloning of no more than 10-15 hybridomas is $1,800. The investigator then assumes responsibility of subcloned hybridomas with instruction and limited assistance from the core technician and/or director. Investigators wishing to do multiple fusions will be required to obtain IACUC approval. Training in monoclonal techniques will also be offered at no charge.

Recombinant Protein Production

We will support recombinant protein production using a mammalian expression system. The fees will be according to the cell culture fee listed above.
