Geriatrics and Gerontology
Geriatricians diagnose, treat and manage diseases and conditions that require a special approach for aging patients and serve as both Primary Care Physicians and consultants for older adults. Gerontologists study approaches to improving the function and quality of life for older adults.
At the Emory Section of Geriatrics and Gerontology we know that comprehensive care is about more than a list of medical conditions; more than pills and procedure. Our comprehensive approach is about listening well, caring greatly, and applying our knowledge and skill wisely to help our patients achieve their care goals
At Emory, we truly believe that “Aging is not a Disease”. However aging, particularly in the face of disease, can be challenging. Whether Geriatrician, Gerontologist, or administrative staff, at the Section of Geriatrics and Gerontology we are here to help our patients and society meet that challenge together.
