Dr. Xiuxiang Blayney, MD
Instructor of Medicine
General Medicine, Hospital Medicine Unit
Dr. Blayney received her medical degree from Qingdao Medical College on Qingdao, Shandong, China. Her post graduate medical training includes an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile. Her duties include providing service as a hospitalist at Emory/HCA hospitals, specifically at Cartersville Medical Center.
Dr. Patrick Mitchell, PhD
Instructor of Medicine
Pulmonary Medicine
Dr. Mitchell received his Ph.D. degree from Emory University in Biochemistry, Cellular & Development Biology. Additionally, Dr. Mitchell performed a post-doctoral research training with Dr. Grace Pavlath in the Department of Pharmacology. In early 2005 he started his post-doctoral training with Dr. David Guidot. Dr. Mitchell will be conducting research on alcohol and its role in airway injury and fibrosis under the continued mentorship of Dr. David Guidot.
Dr. Michael O’Neill, MD
Instructor of Medicine
Division of General Medicine, Hospital Medicine Unit
Dr. O’Neill received his medical degree from Emory University. His post graduate medical training includes an Internal Medicine residency at Emory University. He is also board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. O’Neill’s duties would include providing service as a hospitalist at Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital.
Dr. Jeff Otis, PhD
Instructor of Medicine
Pulmonary Medicine
Dr. Otis received his Ph.D. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia. He has been a postdoctoral fellow with Emory University/Atlanta VA Medical Center. Dr. Otis would be conducting research on alcohol-related and
HIV-1induced myopathies, under the continued mentorship of Dr. David Guidot.
