Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology

Theodore M. Johnson II, MD

“There are few challenges that our society faces that are more compelling our population’s aging.  Though Georgia is today a relatively young state, by 2030 20% of state residents will be over 65 years of age and our demographics will resemble those of present-day Florida.  Our current notions of retirement, health, and aging in place are likely to change dramatically as we adapt to our rapidly changing local and regional population.  The Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology is committed to influencing  the effects of this upcoming “Silver Tsunami” and to creating a better for future our older population through sound clinical practice, quality medical education and innovative clinical and social research.”

 Sincerely,

Theodore (Ted) M. Johnson II, M.D. M.P.H
