Dr. Marina Sorrentino Hernandes received her PhD in Human Physiology at the University of São Paulo and completed her post-doctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Kathy Griendling at Emory University. In 2017, she joined the faculty of the Division of Cardiology at Emory University, School of Medicine and her research is currently funded by the American Heart Association. Her work is currently focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying neuroinflammation in neurodegenerative conditions, particularly ischemic stroke.
